Arnold Kenny Bush III, also known as Giovanni Kana Chapel III and lovingly called Kenny, passed away on November 17, 2025, in Chicago, Illinois, at the age of 34.
Born April 16, 1990, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Kenny was the cherished son of Michelle Denise (Hill) Jenkins and Arnold Kenny Bush Jr. From an early age, Kenny was surrounded by creativity and family values that shaped his life. He carried forward this artistic spirit, blending it with his own vision and determination to grow into the best version of himself.
Kenny graduated from Job Corps with a certification in Culinary Arts and later attended Columbia College in Chicago, where he studied Graphic and Digital Arts. His love for art was deeply rooted in family influence and personal passion. He created original illustrations and characters with the dream of publishing his own comic book—a dream fueled by his desire to share stories that inspire. His work in ink, spray paint, and pen shading reflected not only technical skill but also a soul searching for meaning and beauty.
Beyond his art, Kenny was an accomplished chef who infused his dishes with herbs and creativity, turning meals into experiences of care and connection. He dedicated his professional life to Montrose Behavioral Health as a Dietary Cook and mentor to children in care. His empathy and understanding of mental health challenges allowed him to touch lives in profound ways.
Kenny’s journey was also one of personal growth. He sought peace, purpose, and faith, spending time in solitude to reflect and create. Chicago became his canvas—a city whose culture and vibrancy inspired him to strive for a better life. He embraced opportunities, formed meaningful friendships, and shared his wisdom and talents generously.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother Katherine M. Hairston, cousin Sean Lamont Green, and grandfather Arnold Kenny Bush Sr. Kenny is survived by his loving mother Michelle Denise (Hill) Jenkins; father Arnold Kenny Bush Jr.; bonus mother Jackie Bush; stepfather Corey Jenkins; grandmother Marylynn Bush (“Nanny”); brothers Marcus Arnez Bush, Kendal Maurice Bush, and Joseph Tyree Chapel; sisters Laschelle D. T. Johnson, Amber Bush, and Nadia N. D. (Chapel) Lewis; aunt Katrina Hill; uncle Brandon Bush; sixteen nieces and nephews, and one expected arrival, several aunts, uncles and cousin who loved him very much.
Kenny will be remembered for his generosity, creativity, and unwavering dedication to becoming a better person. His legacy lives on through his art, his culinary creations, and the countless lives he touched. His family is proud of the man Kenny became—the artist, the mentor, the seeker—and the life he built with courage and love.
