Carlton Rio Stallworth Jennings was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, to
the late Carlton Stallworth and Mary Jennings Stallworth. At an
early age, he was baptized at New Unity, where his faith began
and remained a guiding force throughout his life. He was also
preceded in death by Grandmothers, Mary A. Burnett, and Bessie
Marshall. Aunts and Uncles, Alberta Johnson, Isaiah Kennedy,
Diane Collins, and Dwayne Jennings.
Affectionately known as “Pug” to family and friends, Carlton was
the third oldest of seven children. He was a proud graduate of
Cape Senior High School and was known by all who knew him as
an all-around good guy. Pug was admired for his strong work
ethic, genuine love of life, and unwavering dedication to his
family.
Carlton enjoyed fishing, sports, and was a die-hard San Francisco
49ers fan. He took pride in working hard, loved traveling and
vacations, and most of all cherished spending meaningful time
with those he loved.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving mother, Mary
Jennings Stallworth.
He was a devoted father to Carlton (Ashley) McGhee Sr., Racale
Ballard, Edward Holmes, and Christy McGhee.
He also leaves to cherish his memory his loving siblings: Carmen
(Al) Cave, Marcus Jennings, Carlotta (Patrick) Murphy, Maurice
Jennings, Derrick Bethany, and Aaron Bethany.
His legacy lives on through his beloved grandchildren: Neveah
McGhee-Mayfield, Carlton Jamal McGhee Jr., Carley McGhee,
Carissa McGhee, Karley Payne, Ja-Marla Hill, Jamal Fancote,
Edward Holmes, E’Mauri Holmes, Ever Holmes, Calea Hamm,
Tearia Glover, and Romiyah Lockett.
Carlton is also survived by his uncles: Robert “Tootie” Brown,
Lawrence Jennings, Robert Jennings, and Lonnie (Rhonda)
Jennings; and his aunts: Minnie (Charles) Hartley and Treva
(Herman) Chapman.
He also leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and
close friends, including his beloved girlfriend, Raynise Crawford,
and special friends Melissa McGhee and wife Lashanda Payne
Jennings, along with countless others whose lives he touched.
Carlton Rio Stallworth Jennings will be deeply missed and forever
remembered for his kind heart, strength, and love for family.
