Christopher Lynn Battson, Sr.

Christopher Lynn Battson Sr., age 62, was born January 4, 1963, in Troy, Ohio, to James L. Battson and Ethel Pasley. Chris finished his courageous battle with Glioblastoma Multiforme on June 2, 2025. He fought with unwavering determination and maintained a positive attitude throughout, resolved to overcome this challenge.

Chris graduated from Tecumseh High School and worked as a furnace operator at Parker Trutec in Springfield for 20 years. He was a member of Champion City Church in Springfield, Ohio.

Chris was exceptionally talented in art, crochet, building, and fixing things. He enjoyed watching cartoons, fishing, and camping. He never met a stranger, and his goal, especially during his battle with cancer, was simply to make people smile.

Chris is lovingly survived by his wife, Mae; mother, Ethel Pasley; brother, Ron Battson; his children, Christopher Jr., Elizabeth (Mike), and Jennifer; his grandchildren, Celice (Onijah) Hill, Ray Price, James Price, Eyote Morgan, and Kayla Morgan; bonus grandson Spiral Morgan; several nieces and nephews; and his longtime friends John and Sharon McGuire.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Battson; his stepmother, Virginia Battson; his grandparents; his aunts and uncles; his cousins; and his nephew, Immanuel.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Springfield Cancer Center and the Glioblastoma Foundation.

A private celebration of Chris's life is being planned by his family. Please bring the coasters he made for you to the service.
