Richard Allen Payne, Sr., age 48, of Springfield, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2025, in Springfield.

Richard dedicated 11 years of his professional life to Navistar International, where he built lasting friendships and earned the respect of his colleagues. A proud entrepreneur, he poured his heart into In & Out Clean Out/Lawncare Services, LLC, which he established in 2022. His work ethic and commitment to excellence were evident in everything he touched.

A true Bengals fan through and through, Richard's passion for football was matched only by his love for the simple pleasures in life. Whether he was watching the game, playing euchre and cornhole with friends, tinkering away in his garage, or working on a scrapping project, Richard approached every activity with enthusiasm and joy. Above all else, he treasured the time spent with his family and friends, creating memories that will be held close to their hearts forever.

Richard leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish his memory: his devoted wife, Amanda Payne; children Rylee Payne (Butler), Richard Payne, Jr., Austin Payne, Alyssa Werts, and James Shoopman; sisters Debra (Debbie) Doody and Kathleen Payne (Loggins); brother-in-law Ricky Sigmon; nieces Mae-Mae Battson, Kim Perez, Casey Payne and their families; nephews Darrell Viers, Stevie Viers and their families; cousin Krystal Russell and her family; brother from another mother Jay Hague and his family; and lifelong best friend Holly Massie "Big Booty Judy" (Jamie Massie). Richard was preceded in death by his beloved daughter Katilyn Payne-Adkins, brothers Steve Payne and Lester Payne, and nephew Turk Viers.

Richard's unwavering dedication to those he loved will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy lives on in the hearts of his family, the business he built, and the countless lives he touched along the way.
