Thomas Allen Lounds, III

Thomas A. Lounds III transitioned to be in Our Heavenly Father’s arms on Monday, August 18, 2025, surrounded by his family. Born on Thursday, March 25, 1960, in Oxford, OH, he was the third child born to the union of Thomas A. Lounds Jr. and the late Florence E. (Abel) Lounds. 

Thomas (lovingly known as Tommy) attended Shaker Heights High School in Cleveland, OH, graduating in June 1978. Tommy enjoyed playing Little League football with KenSil (Kenny Height/Silverton) Little League during his childhood.Tommy and Cathy (Palmore) Lounds III met early in their lives, continuing to be friends, and that friendship flourished into love. They married on Sunday, December 25, 1997. To this union were two stepchildren, Jaimele and James Bettis.

Tommy was a happy, well-mannered, giving person who never met a stranger, welcoming others with open arms and a kind heart to help those in need. Tommy loved everything surrounding history. He could talk about this subject for hours. Tommy not only loved his family but also worked on cars, enjoyed movies, and made custom pieces for his home, such as lamps. Tommy would come to the aid, helping others with his mechanical knowledge of different cars. Along with the love of cars, Tommy also loved his vast collection of vinyl (LPs) music, and his beloved Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Bengals NFL Football teams. He was employed with J. R. Jurgensen Construction Company for 30 years.

Tommy’s memory will carry on in the hearts of his loving wife of 31 years, Cathy; his step-children, Jaimele and James Bettis; father, Tommy A. (Cynthia) Lounds, Jr.; brother, Jeffrey Allen Lounds; uncle, Charles Abel; niece, Alexia Lounds; nephew, Reinaldo, Figueroa; cousin, Brenda Dixon; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Beverly, George IV (Chermane), Belinda, Faye, Herschel (Gladys), Dermyrl, J’Rome, Jacquie (Howard), Anthony (Holly), Carlisa and a host of family and friends. Tommy was preceded in death by his mother, Florence (Abel) Lounds; maternal grandparents, Charles Abel (Alice) Sr.; fraternal grandparents, Thomas A. (Cora) Lounds, Sr.; sister, Marcia Lounds-Figueroa, and a host of relatives.
