Twyla Nicole
Brigham-Freeman
Feb 20, 1998 — May 13, 2026
Twyla Nicole Brigham-Freeman was called home to be with God on May 13, 2026, at just 28 years old - far too soon, yet having lived a life brimming with color, creativity, love, and purpose. Born on February 20, 1998, to Norma Turner and J.D. Brigham, Twyla grew into a woman whose spirit was as radiant and enduring as the rising sun she so deeply cherished.
Twyla was a devoted and tender-hearted mother to her five beloved children - Jayden, Shaquille, Shamariyah, Aaron Jr., and Ariane - and a deeply loving wife to her husband, Aaron Freeman. Their bond was one of rare and beautiful partnership. She was equally content dancing through a busy day together as she was settling into the peace of home when life called for stillness.
Twyla had a creative soul that found outlets in many directions. She studied Psychology at the University of Cincinnati, driven by a genuine desire to understand people and the world around her. That same curiosity led her into the production field, where she worked with artists she admired and discovered new ones along the way, falling in love with the art of storytelling and sound. At home, her hands were always busy - crocheting, crafting wigs, practicing makeup artistry on her girls, and pouring her innermost thoughts into her journals. Those pages held her heart in ways that only the written word can.
Twyla is survived by her husband, Aaron Freeman; their five children: Jayden, Shaquille, Shamariyah, Aaron Jr. and Ariane; her sister, Monae Turner; grandmother, Ruby Turner; mother-in-law, Evette Banks; father-in-law; Tracy Freeman III, cousin; Marcus Bankston; sisters-in-law, Nykeba Banks and Mariah Ewing; brothers-in-law, Tracy Freeman, James Colegate, Anaiah Freeman, and Amir Freeman; god-brother, Deangelo Hart; and god-sisters, Ayinde Ashakir, Twoneisha Burns, and Jariah Allen. She leaves behind a village of people whose lives she touched immeasurably, and who will carry her forward in everything they do.
One day at a time remember her as the sun sets. And remember her as it rises! These moments were the strongest in her life as it was during those times that she strived as a mother setting the tone for the children to have a great day. And at night consoling the children reminding them that there will always be tomorrow!
