William "Bill" Morris Jones Jr., also known as "Junie" to family and friends, was born July 17, 1951, in Cincinnati, Ohio to William and Hattie Gertrude Jones Sr., who preceded him in death. William was 74 years old when he gained his wings and went to be with his heavenly father on March 21, 2026, after a long fight with bone cancer and heart disease.
William was passionate about music in all its forms, particularly Jazz, R&B and Gospel. His versatility and eclecticism allowed him to connect with people from all walks of life, culture, and social class. He touched the lives of many with his profound sense of humor, warmth, creativity, curiosity, and gregarious outgoing nature.
William was a generous friend and possessed an uncanny ability to connect to just about anyone. He possessed a brilliant mind, disarming wit, and an empathetic heart. He had a rare gift of building community wherever he found himself.
He was preceded in death by his sisters Delores, Dorothy, Victoria and Deborah Jean. As well as his nephew Curtis and Stanley, and the father of two of his grandkids that he loved as a son, Faylo, along with many friends and relatives who are now with William on his journey.
William leaves his memories and laughter to be cherished to all that knew him.
He is survived by his great aunt Julia Bell, sister Jennifer Bryant, his son William Morris Jones III, (3) daughters, Jamita LaShawn Jones (Fred Jones), Calindela Renee Jones, Crystal Patrice Hyde (Bryant Hyde), (7) grand-children, Pierre, Johnte’, Brandy, Unique (Ethan), Lemia, Brooke, Willow (Dianna, whom he loved like a daughter) and (3) great-grandchildren J.R, GiGi and Veah. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, all who will forever cherish his memory.
